Possible Causes
Incorrect close limit setting, Slipping drive sprocket on shaft, Worn limit encoder, Door hitting raised floor seal or threshold
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Keep the area under the door clear while adjusting limits.
Steps:
- Check floor contact: Inspect the bottom seal and floor. If a new threshold or thick seal was added, the door may meet resistance early and trigger reversal.
- Reprogram close limit: Enter limit programming mode on the Henderson opener and reset the closed position so the door stops firmly on the floor without excessive force.
- Inspect drive sprocket: Remove the opener cover and check that the chain/belt drive sprocket is tight on the motor shaft. Tighten the set screw if loose.
- Check encoder: Examine the limit encoder or magnet strip for damage or looseness. Replace the Henderson limit encoder assembly if worn.
