Possible Causes
Door springs out of balance, Jammed Henderson rail trolley, Seized door rollers, Failed motor start capacitor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power. A jammed door under tension can fall suddenly. Do not remove or adjust torsion springs yourself.
Steps:
- Disengage opener: Pull the Henderson emergency release cord to separate the trolley from the door.
- Test door by hand: Lift the door manually. If it is very heavy or will not move, the problem is with the door (springs, tracks, rollers). Call a professional for spring work.
- Check trolley movement: With the door disconnected, restore power and run the opener. If the motor hums but the chain/belt does not move, inspect the trolley and drive system for binding or broken parts.
- Inspect capacitor: If the motor only hums and does not start, the start capacitor may be faulty. Replace with the correct Henderson motor capacitor.
