Door is very noisy during operation (grinding, squealing, banging)

Safety first: Disconnect power and use the manual release. Do not place fingers between door sections.

Step-by-step:

• Identify noise source: Operate the door manually and listen near tracks, hinges, and operator rail.
• Lubricate: Apply a light garage door lubricant to roller bearings, hinge pivots, and torsion spring coils (if accessible). Do not grease the tracks.
• Tighten hardware: Check and tighten all hinge screws, track bracket bolts, and operator mounting fasteners.
• Inspect chain: If the operator uses a chain, check for slack and adjust tension per Hormann instructions. Replace a badly worn or rusty chain.
• Replace worn rollers: Noisy or wobbly rollers should be replaced with compatible Hormann rollers.
