Possible Causes
Stuck external stop button, Shorted stop circuit wiring, Miswired control inputs, Faulty stop input on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate mains power before opening the operator housing or control cabinet.
Step-by-step:
- Check external stop devices: If an external mushroom stop or key switch is installed, ensure it is released (twist to reset). Inspect for mechanical damage.
- Inspect stop circuit wiring: At the Hormann control board (e.g. terminals labeled STOP, ST, or 11/14), verify that the stop loop is correctly bridged if no external stop is used, or that the external switch wiring is intact.
- Look for shorts: Follow the low‑voltage cable to any wall stations or key switches. Repair any crushed or cut cable. Ensure no bare conductors are touching.
- Reset control: After correcting wiring or switch issues, restore power and perform a control reset if specified in the manual (e.g. power cycle or hold programming button for several seconds).
- If code remains: The stop input circuitry on the main control board may be defective and the board will need replacement.
