Possible Causes
Broken sensor wire, reversed polarity at sensor terminals, loose connection at logic board, corroded wire splices
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before handling wiring at the opener terminals.
- Check sensor LEDs: If one or both sensor LEDs are off, suspect wiring.
- Inspect wiring path: Follow the sensor wires from each sensor back to the opener. Look for breaks, chew marks (rodents), or crushed sections under staples.
- Verify connections: At the opener, ensure the white wires are on the correct terminal (usually white) and the white/black or solid-colored wires are on the sensor terminal (usually black).
- Repair or replace wire: Cut out damaged sections and use low-voltage wire of similar gauge to splice, or run new wire from sensors to opener.
- Test sensors: Restore power and confirm both sensor LEDs are solid before testing door operation.
