Possible Causes
Shorted wall control, stuck push button, shorted wall control wiring, moisture inside wall station
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power before disconnecting wall control wiring.
- Disconnect wall control: Remove the two low-voltage wires from the wall control terminals at the opener.
- Test opener: Restore power and try operating the door using the remote or the LEARN button. If the opener now works, the wall control or its wiring is at fault.
- Inspect wall control: Remove the wall station from the wall. Check for stuck buttons, corrosion, or water damage.
- Check wiring: Inspect the cable from the wall control to the opener for staples through the insulation or crushed sections.
- Replace as needed: Install a new LiftMaster wall control if the old one is damaged. If wiring is damaged, run new low-voltage cable.
