Possible Causes
Photo eyes misaligned or blocked, One sensor LED off, Sensor wiring reversed or open, Faulty photo eye
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not continue to use the hold-to-close override as a permanent solution; restore full safety function.
- 1. Inspect sensors: Confirm both Linear photo eyes are facing each other at the same height and that both LEDs are solid.
- 2. Clear obstructions: Remove any items near the floor that could break the beam, including tools, trash cans, or stored items.
- 3. Check wiring polarity: Ensure the wires from each sensor are connected to the correct terminals at the opener. Some models are polarity-sensitive.
- 4. Replace defective sensor: If one LED will not light despite correct wiring, replace that photo eye with a matching Linear sensor.
