Possible Causes
Wall station lock feature engaged, Shorted wall control wiring, Defective multi-function wall console, Incorrect wiring at wall control terminals
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before working on low-voltage wiring.
- 1. Check wall station lock: On Linear multi-function wall consoles, verify that the lock or vacation mode is not enabled. Press and hold the lock button (if present) for several seconds to toggle it off.
- 2. Test with jumper: At the opener, disconnect the wall control wires. Briefly short the wall control terminals with a small insulated jumper wire. If the door operates, the wall station or its wiring is faulty.
- 3. Inspect wall control wiring: Look for staples driven too tightly, cuts, or crushed cable between the opener and wall station. Repair or replace damaged wire.
- 4. Replace wall station: If wiring is good and the opener responds to a jumper but not the wall console, replace the Linear wall control with a compatible model.
- 5. Verify terminal connections: Ensure the wall control wires are on the correct terminals at both the opener and the wall station per the Linear wiring diagram.
