Possible Causes
Trolley not engaged with carriage, Emergency release rope stuck in release position, Broken trolley latch, Misadjusted stop bolt preventing engagement
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the door is fully closed or securely propped before working on the trolley. A free-falling door can cause injury.
- 1. Inspect trolley position: Look at the rail and confirm the trolley is aligned with the opener carriage and that the release lever is in the engaged position.
- 2. Reset emergency release: Pull the red release handle toward the door, then move the door manually until the trolley clicks back into the carriage. Some Linear models require running the opener to re-engage.
- 3. Check stop bolt: Ensure the stop bolt at the header end of the rail is not preventing the trolley from reaching the engage position. Adjust if necessary.
- 4. Examine trolley latch: If the latch is cracked or will not stay engaged, replace the trolley assembly with the correct Linear part.
- 5. Test operation: Once engaged, run the opener through a full cycle and confirm F11 clears.
