Possible Causes

Failed internal RF receiver module, Antenna wire broken or disconnected, Severe RF interference, Corrupted remote memory

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Work with power disconnected when accessing internal electronics. Do not short any terminals.

  • 1. Check antenna: Verify the thin antenna wire on the Linear head unit is intact, fully extended, and not cut or wrapped around metal brackets. Reposition it away from metal if needed.
  • 2. Clear and reprogram remotes: Use the Learn button on the opener to erase all remote codes (hold until LED flashes per manual), then reprogram each Linear remote and wireless keypad. Test operation.
  • 3. Test wall button: If the wall button reliably operates the door, the main control board is likely functional and the issue is limited to RF reception.
  • 4. Reduce interference: Move any new electronic devices (LED shop lights, Wi‑Fi routers, etc.) away from the opener to see if range improves.
  • 5. Replace receiver/control board: If F7 persists and no remotes will program or operate the door, the RF receiver section of the control board is likely defective. Replace the main control board or plug-in receiver module, depending on model.
