Possible Causes
Loose track mounting brackets, Worn hinges, Loose opener mounting hardware, Slack chain hitting rail
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before tightening hardware near the opener. Keep hands clear of moving parts.
- 1. Inspect track brackets: Tighten all lag screws and bolts securing the vertical and horizontal tracks to the wall and ceiling.
- 2. Check hinges and rollers: Replace cracked hinges and worn rollers. Tighten hinge screws on the door sections.
- 3. Examine opener mounting: Ensure the Linear opener is firmly attached to the ceiling and header bracket with no loose bolts.
- 4. Adjust chain tension: If using a chain drive, adjust tension so there is only slight sag at mid-span. Excess slack can cause banging.
