Possible Causes
Light button on wall console stuck, Shorted light control wiring, Failed light relay on control board, Misprogrammed light timer setting
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before working on wiring or the control board.
- 1. Check wall console: Press the light button several times to ensure it is not stuck. If the button feels mushy or does not click, replace the console.
- 2. Disconnect wall control: Temporarily remove wall control wires at the opener. Restore power and see if the light now times out normally.
- 3. Review settings: Some Linear models allow extended light-on times. Reset to factory defaults if possible.
- 4. Replace control board: If the light remains on with wall control disconnected, the light relay on the board is likely stuck closed and the board should be replaced.
