Possible Causes
Antenna wire damaged or tucked inside housing, RF interference from nearby electronics, Weak remote batteries, Metal building structure blocking signal
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before repositioning the antenna inside the housing.
- 1. Replace remote batteries: Install fresh batteries in all Linear remotes and test range again.
- 2. Inspect antenna: Ensure the opener’s antenna wire is fully extended downward and not wrapped around metal brackets or tucked inside the cover.
- 3. Reduce interference: Temporarily turn off or move nearby devices such as LED shop lights, Wi‑Fi routers, or battery chargers to see if range improves.
- 4. Reposition opener or add external antenna: In metal buildings, consider routing the antenna through a non-metallic opening or using a Linear-compatible external antenna kit.
- 5. If range remains poor: The RF receiver section of the control board may be weak; replacing the board or adding an external receiver can restore normal range.
