Possible Causes
Emergency release lever in manual position, Broken or stripped trolley carriage, Drive belt/chain disconnected from trolley, Limit not recognized due to missing trolley
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the door is stable and supported before re‑engaging the opener.
- Check emergency release: Verify the red release cord and lever on the trolley are in the engaged position (usually pointing toward the opener). Pull the cord toward the door and then toward the opener to re‑engage, depending on model.
- Inspect trolley: Slide the trolley along the rail by hand (with opener disconnected). Look for broken plastic, missing teeth, or a cracked carriage. Replace the Marantec trolley assembly if damaged.
- Verify drive connection: Confirm the chain or belt is properly looped through the trolley and around the sprockets. Reinstall if it has come off.
- Run a test cycle: Reconnect power and activate the opener. If the trolley now moves with the rail, the error should clear. If the motor runs but the trolley does not move, the carriage is likely stripped and must be replaced.
