Possible Causes
Down force set too low, Door bottom seal too stiff or uneven, Floor not level causing one side to hit first, Control board misinterpreting force feedback
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Keep clear of the door while adjusting force. The door should always reverse if it hits a solid object.
- Inspect bottom seal and floor: Check the rubber bottom seal for hard spots or damage. Replace if brittle. Verify the floor is reasonably level; shim low spots if necessary.
- Adjust down force: On the Marantec head, locate the down force adjustment. Increase slightly (one increment at a time) and test. Do not set so high that the door will not reverse when obstructed.
- Re‑run safety test: Place a 2x4 board flat on the floor under the door. Close the door. It should reverse within 2 seconds of contacting the board. If not, reduce force and adjust travel until both safety and full closure are achieved.
- If code persists with proper mechanics: The force sensing circuit on the control board may be defective and require replacement.
