Possible Causes
Broken safety sensor wire between head and sensors, Shorted low‑voltage cable at staples or junctions, Incorrect wiring at terminal strip, Failed safety sensor internal electronics
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the opener before working on low‑voltage wiring. Do not permanently bypass safety sensors; this violates safety standards.
- Visual wire inspection: Follow the two‑conductor cable from the head unit to each sensor. Look for crushed insulation, nail or staple damage, or loose wire nuts. Repair or replace any damaged sections using 22–18 AWG low‑voltage cable.
- Check terminal connections: At the opener head, remove each sensor wire, trim back to clean copper, and reinsert firmly into the correct sensor terminals. Tighten screws securely.
- Continuity test (optional): With a multimeter set to continuity, test each conductor from the head to the sensor. Replace the cable if open or shorted.
- Sensor swap test: If wiring checks out, temporarily connect a new or known‑good Marantec sensor pair directly at the opener head with a short test lead. If the error clears, the original sensors are defective and should be replaced.
- Restore and test: Reconnect everything, plug in the opener, and attempt to close the door. The code should clear when the circuit is intact.
