Door opens normally but will not close using the remote; it will close only when holding the wall button down.

Safety first: Do not continue to operate the door without functional safety beams.

• Check sensor LEDs: Verify that both Merlin safety beam sensors show the correct LED status (usually solid when aligned). If not, realign and clean them.
• Inspect wiring: Check for damaged or loose sensor wires at both the sensors and opener terminals.
• Replace faulty sensors: If alignment and wiring are correct but LEDs do not behave as specified, replace the safety beam kit.
• Test normal close: Once beams are working, the door should close from the remote without holding the wall button.
