How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before working on low‑voltage wiring.
- Inspect wall station: Remove the wall button or multi‑function wall station from the wall. Check for loose or corroded screw terminals.
- Bypass test: At the opener, disconnect the wall control wires. Momentarily short the wall control terminals with a small insulated jumper wire. If the door operates, the wiring or wall station is faulty. If not, the PCB input is suspect.
- Check cable continuity: Use a multimeter to test the two‑conductor cable from opener to wall station. Replace if open or shorted.
- Replace wall station: If wiring is good but the station does not work, install a new Merlin‑compatible wall control.
- Board replacement: If the jumper test fails, the control board wall input circuit is likely damaged and the board must be replaced.
