Possible Causes
Down limit set too far, Door hitting a hard obstruction at floor, Close force set too low or too high, Warped door or uneven floor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Keep clear of the moving door while testing adjustments.
- Inspect floor and door bottom: Look for raised concrete, weatherstrip, or objects that cause the door to stop abruptly. Correct or remove obstructions.
- Reset down limit: Adjust the down travel limit on the Mighty Mule opener so the door stops just as the weatherstrip contacts the floor, without significant compression.
- Fine-tune force: Adjust the close force slightly per the manual. Too low can cause premature reversal; too high can be unsafe.
- Test multiple cycles: Run the door several times and confirm it stays closed without reversing. Perform the 2x4 safety reversal test to ensure proper operation.
