Possible Causes
Worn wall button contacts, Loose terminal screws, Damaged low-voltage cable, Corroded connections at opener
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power to the opener before working on wiring.
- Inspect console: Remove the wall console cover and check for cracked plastic or worn button mechanisms. Replace if physically damaged.
- Check wiring: Tighten the two low-voltage terminal screws on the console and at the opener. Re-strip and re-terminate any oxidized or broken conductors.
- Bypass test: Temporarily connect a simple doorbell-style push button directly to the opener’s wall control terminals. If it works reliably, the original console is faulty.
- Replace console: Install a new Mighty Mule wall console if the original is defective.
