Possible Causes
Defective motor relay on logic board, Broken motor wire, Burned motor winding, Loose connector at motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the opener before opening the housing. Capacitors and wiring can be hazardous.
Steps to diagnose:
- Listen for relay click: When pressing the wall button, listen at the opener for a click. If the light comes on but no click is heard, the relay or board may be faulty.
- Inspect motor wiring: Remove the cover and check that all motor wires are firmly connected to the logic board and capacitor.
- Check for burnt smell: A burnt odor near the motor indicates winding failure; replace the motor assembly.
- Replace logic board: If the motor tests good but the relay does not energize, replace the Motorlift logic/control board.
