Possible Causes

Down travel set too far, Door hitting raised floor or obstruction, Incorrect force adjustment, Loose door stop bolt

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Keep feet and objects clear of the door path while adjusting.

Steps to correct:

  • Inspect floor area: Check for raised weatherstrip, mats, or objects where the door lands. Remove any obstructions.
  • Adjust down travel: On the Motorlift opener, turn the DOWN travel adjustment screw counterclockwise slightly to reduce travel so the door just seals at the floor without excessive pressure.
  • Check down force: Reduce the DOWN force setting slightly so the opener does not interpret normal floor contact as an obstruction.
  • Test safety reversal: Place a 2x4 board flat under the door and close it. The door should reverse upon contact. Fine-tune adjustments as needed.
