Possible Causes
Shorted wall push button, Stuck external key switch, Miswired step‑by‑step input on Nice control board, Water ingress into control station
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before opening wall controls or junction boxes.
- Disconnect wall control: Remove the two low‑voltage wires from the step‑by‑step (START) terminals on the Nice board. Restore power and see if E7 clears. If it does, the problem is in the wall control circuit.
- Inspect push button or key switch: Open the wall station or key switch. Look for corrosion, water damage, or a stuck button. Test with a multimeter; the contacts should be open when not pressed.
- Check cable: Follow the low‑voltage cable from the control board to the wall station. Repair any crushed or shorted sections, especially where the cable passes through metal.
- Rewire correctly: Ensure the step‑by‑step input is wired only to a momentary, normally‑open contact as specified by Nice. Remove any unauthorized parallel connections.
- Test operation: Reconnect the wall control and verify that a single press cycles the door open/stop/close correctly without triggering E7.
