Overhead Door opener LED flashes 2 times and door will not close from remote, but will close if wall button is held down

Safety first: Disconnect power to the opener before working on wiring. Do not bypass safety sensors for normal operation.

• 1. Verify sensor LEDs: Check each photo eye. One or both LEDs may be off or dim. This often indicates a wiring or sensor failure rather than simple misalignment.
• 2. Inspect wiring at the opener: Remove the opener light cover if needed. Locate the sensor wires at the low-voltage terminal strip. Tighten any loose screws and ensure the wires are under the correct terminals (usually white/black or marked for sensors).
• 3. Trace the wire run: Follow the sensor wires along the wall and track. Look for staples driven too tightly, cuts, crushed insulation, or splices that have come apart.
• 4. Test continuity (if you have a meter): With power off, disconnect the sensor wires at the opener and at the sensors. Use a multimeter to check continuity of each conductor. Replace damaged wire runs.
• 5. Swap sensors (if possible): If you have a known-good compatible Overhead Door sensor, temporarily connect it at the opener with a short test wire. If the code clears, the original sensor is defective.
• 6. Replace faulty components: Install a new Overhead Door safety sensor kit or new low-voltage wire as needed. Reconnect, restore power, and test door operation.
