Possible Causes
Close limit set too far, Door hitting raised floor or obstruction, Excessive down force, Bent bottom section or weather seal
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Keep clear of the door while adjusting. Do not force the door against the floor.
- 1. Inspect the floor and threshold: Look for raised concrete, weatherstripping, or objects that the door may be hitting at the bottom.
- 2. Check bottom section and seal: Ensure the bottom panel is not bent and the rubber seal is not folded or jammed.
- 3. Adjust close limit: Reduce the close travel slightly so the door stops as soon as it contacts the floor without pushing hard. Use the close limit screw or electronic setting.
- 4. Reduce down force if high: If the down force is set very high, reduce it to the minimum that reliably closes the door.
- 5. Test with 2x4 board: Place a 2x4 flat on the floor under the door. The door should reverse upon contact. If it does not, further adjust force and limits or have a technician inspect the opener.
