Garage door opener is very noisy during operation on Overhead Door opener

Safety first: Disconnect power before tightening hardware. Keep clear of moving parts.

• 1. Lubricate door hardware: Apply garage door lubricant to rollers (except nylon wheels), hinges, and bearings. Do not grease the tracks.
• 2. Tighten door hardware: With the door closed, tighten all hinge, roller bracket, and track bracket bolts.
• 3. Check opener mounting: Tighten lag screws at the header bracket and ceiling mounting straps. Add angle iron bracing if the opener flexes.
• 4. Adjust chain tension: For chain-drive models, adjust tension so there is about 1/4 inch sag at the midpoint. Overly loose chains slap the rail.
• 5. Inspect drive gear and sprocket: Remove the opener cover and check for worn gears or wobbling sprocket. Replace the gear and sprocket kit if worn.
