Garage door opener light does not turn on when door operates on Overhead Door opener

Safety first: Unplug the opener or switch off the breaker before changing bulbs.

• 1. Replace bulb: Install a new bulb of the correct wattage and type recommended by Overhead Door. Some models require specific rough-service or LED-compatible bulbs.
• 2. Inspect socket: Look for corrosion or bent contacts in the bulb socket. Clean gently and bend contacts slightly inward if needed.
• 3. Test light button: Use the wall console light button (if equipped) to toggle the light. If it never turns on with a known-good bulb, the light relay or board may be faulty.
• 4. Check light delay setting: Some models allow programming of light behavior. Ensure it is not disabled.
• 5. Replace logic board if light circuit failed: If the opener otherwise works but will not power the light, replace the logic board or light control module.
