Garage door opener remote range is very short on Overhead Door opener

Safety first: Use a stable ladder when adjusting the antenna or accessing the opener.

• 1. Replace remote battery: Install a fresh battery in the remote and test range again.
• 2. Inspect antenna wire: Ensure the opener's antenna wire is intact, not cut, and hanging straight down. Do not wrap it around metal.
• 3. Reduce interference: Move or turn off nearby RF sources such as Wi-Fi routers, LED lights, or other transmitters to see if range improves.
• 4. Reposition opener or antenna: If the opener is mounted behind metal ductwork or beams, consider using an external antenna kit or relocating obstructions.
• 5. Test with another remote: If only one remote has poor range, replace that remote. If all remotes have poor range, the receiver on the logic board may be weak.
