Possible Causes

Stuck wall button, Shorted wall control wiring, Neighboring RF device on same code, Defective RF receiver

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Until resolved, disconnect power to the opener when not in use to prevent unintended operation.

  • Inspect wall button: Remove the Skylink wall console and ensure the button is not physically stuck. Disconnect the wall control wires at the opener and monitor. If random operation stops, repair or replace the wall console or wiring.
  • Erase and reprogram remotes: Clear all remote codes from the opener and reprogram only your own Skylink remotes and keypad.
  • Check for interference: If the opener activates when certain devices are used (e.g., CB radio, neighbor’s opener), changing the code or frequency (if supported) may help.
  • Replace RF module: If random operation continues with wall control disconnected and remotes erased, replace the Skylink RF receiver module or main control board.
