Possible Causes
Undersized extension cord, Brownout or low line voltage, Failing internal power supply on control board, Loose neutral or hot connection at terminal block
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Work with mains voltage only if you are qualified. Otherwise, call an electrician.
- 1. Plug directly into outlet: Remove any extension cords or power strips. Plug the Sommer opener directly into a dedicated outlet.
- 2. Check outlet voltage: Use a multimeter to verify 110–120 V (North America) or 220–240 V (EU) at the outlet. Low voltage can cause E14.
- 3. Inspect power cord and plug: Look for cuts, burns, or loose blades. Replace the cord set if damaged.
- 4. Inspect internal connections: With power off, check that the line and neutral wires are tight at the control board terminal block.
- 5. Replace control board if needed: If supply voltage is correct but E14 persists, the internal power supply on the board is likely defective.
