Opener light flashes but motor does not run when trying to close; sensors appear aligned.

Safety: Never bypass safety sensors permanently.

• 1. Verify wiring at opener: Ensure the sensor wires are on the correct terminals as labeled by Sommer (often 2‑wire polarity sensitive).
• 2. Inspect for shorts: Look for bare wires touching at the back of the opener or at the sensor brackets.
• 3. Temporarily swap sensors: Swap left and right sensors to see if the problem follows one unit. Replace the defective sensor pair if so.
• 4. Remove any unauthorized jumpers: If someone has installed a wire jumper to bypass sensors, remove it and install proper Sommer photo eyes.
