Possible Causes
Bent vertical or horizontal track, Broken or worn rollers, Loose track mounting brackets, Debris in track path
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and use the emergency release to move the door manually before working on tracks. Do not attempt to straighten severely bent tracks under load.
- Inspect tracks: Look along the vertical and horizontal tracks for bends, kinks, or misalignment. Check that the tracks are parallel and plumb.
- Check rollers: Spin each roller by hand. Replace any that are cracked, wobbly, or seized with compatible Wayne Dalton rollers.
- Clean tracks: Remove debris and wipe the inside of the tracks. Do not grease the tracks; use a light silicone spray on the rollers and hinges instead.
- Adjust track brackets: Loosen mounting bolts slightly, tap the track into correct alignment so the rollers sit centered, then retighten.
- Test by hand: Move the door through full travel manually. Only reconnect the opener once the door moves smoothly.
