Possible Causes
Misaligned or blocked photo eyes, Defective safety sensor, Sunlight interference on sensor, Loose sensor bracket
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not tape or bypass the sensors. They are required for safe operation.
- Check sensor LEDs: One or both LEDs should be solid when aligned. If one is off or flickering, adjust the sensor until both are solid.
- Remove obstructions: Clean the lenses and remove any objects near the sensors that could block the beam.
- Shield from sunlight: If direct sun hits one sensor, create a small shade using the bracket or a non-flammable shield so the sensor can see the other side.
- Secure brackets: Tighten the wing nuts so the sensors cannot move when the door vibrates.
- Replace sensors if needed: If alignment and wiring are correct but LEDs will not stay on, replace the sensor pair.
