How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Turn OFF power before adjusting or replacing the splash guard.
- Step 1 – Clean guard slits: Lift the splash guard slightly and rinse away any debris. Use a brush to clean the underside.
- Step 2 – Flex the guard: For new AmazonCommercial guards, manually flex the rubber flaps several times to soften them.
- Step 3 – Verify correct part: Ensure the splash guard is the correct size and model for your disposal; an undersized guard can overly restrict the opening.
- Step 4 – Replace if necessary: Install a compatible guard with properly sized slots to allow food to pass while still containing splashes.
