Possible Causes
Cracked air switch tubing, Failed air switch button, Faulty air switch module, Loose connection at control box
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF power to the disposal before working on any control modules.
- Inspect air tubing: For air-switch systems, check the small plastic tube from the countertop button to the under-sink module for kinks, cracks, or disconnections.
- Test button: Press the button and listen for a click at the module. If no click, the button or tubing may be faulty.
- Check module connections: Ensure the module is plugged in and its output is securely connected to the American Standard disposal circuit.
- Replace faulty parts: Replace the air switch button, tubing, or module as needed. If using a wireless kit, replace batteries or the module per manufacturer instructions.
