Possible Causes
Loose dishwasher hose clamp, Cracked Astracast dishwasher inlet spigot, Missing or damaged rubber inlet gasket, Improperly knocked-out dishwasher plug leaving rough edge
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Turn OFF power to the disposal and dishwasher. Do not run either appliance while leaks are present.
- Step 1 – Tighten clamp: Use a screwdriver to tighten the dishwasher hose clamp at the Astracast inlet spigot.
- Step 2 – Inspect hose and spigot: Check for cracks in the plastic spigot or splits in the hose. Replace damaged components.
- Step 3 – Check gasket: If your model uses a rubber gasket at the inlet, ensure it is present and not deteriorated. Replace if necessary.
- Step 4 – Verify knockout plug removal: On new installations, confirm the internal knockout plug was fully removed from the Astracast dishwasher inlet. Remove any remaining plastic pieces that could prevent sealing.
- Step 5 – Test for leaks: Run the dishwasher through a short cycle and observe the connection for drips.
Warning: Water near electrical connections is hazardous; correct leaks promptly.
