Possible Causes
Temporary motor overload from jammed food, Running disposal without water, Extended continuous operation, Slight motor overheating
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Turn OFF the wall switch and ensure no one can accidentally turn it on while you work.
- Step 1 – Clear chamber: Remove visible debris from the grinding chamber using tongs or pliers. Rotate the grinding plate manually with a wooden tool to ensure it moves freely.
- Step 2 – Allow cooling: Wait 5–10 minutes for the motor to cool down.
- Step 3 – Press reset: Firmly press the red reset button on the bottom of the Astracast unit until it clicks.
- Step 4 – Test: Turn on cold water, then switch the disposal ON briefly. If it runs normally, resume normal use but avoid overloading.
- Step 5 – Monitor: If the reset trips repeatedly, further diagnosis of motor or bearing issues is required.
Warning: Never reset repeatedly without addressing the cause; this can damage the motor.
