Disposal is extremely loud, with a harsh roaring or growling sound, even when not grinding hard items.

Safety First: Turn OFF power at the breaker before any inspection. Do not operate a disposal with severe mechanical noise for extended periods.

• Step 1 – Eliminate foreign objects: Confirm there are no utensils or debris in the chamber by inspecting with a flashlight and removing any objects with tools.
• Step 2 – Listen closely: Briefly run the unit with water. A deep growling or screeching that changes with speed usually indicates bearing wear.
• Step 3 – Check mounting: Ensure the mounting ring and sink flange are tight to rule out vibration noise.
• Step 4 – Replace unit: Motor bearings and internal rotor alignment are not serviceable on Electrolux disposals. Replace the complete unit to prevent seizure or further damage.
