Disposal stops abruptly during operation and will not restart until it cools down.

Safety First: Turn OFF the wall switch and allow the unit to cool before pressing the reset button.

• Step 1 – Improve ventilation: Clear stored items from around the disposal to allow air circulation. Avoid wrapping the unit with insulation or soundproofing materials.
• Step 2 – Modify usage: Feed smaller amounts of food at a time and run cold water continuously. Avoid grinding bones or very fibrous materials.
• Step 3 – Check for mechanical drag: With power off, rotate the impeller plate manually. Any stiffness or grinding feel suggests bearing wear.
• Step 4 – Reset and test: Press the reset button once the unit is cool and test with a light load.
• If the overload continues to trip under light use, internal motor or overload components are failing and the disposal should be replaced.
