Batch-Feed Lid Sensor Misalignment
Disposal runs only when the batch-feed stopper is held in a specific position; slight movement causes it to stop.

Possible Causes
Worn batch-feed stopper, Misaligned magnetic or mechanical interlock, Debris preventing full seating of stopper, Damaged lid sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Turn OFF the disposal before inserting or removing the batch-feed stopper.
- Step 1 – Clean stopper and opening: Remove the stopper and clean both it and the sink opening thoroughly to remove food debris that may prevent full engagement.
- Step 2 – Inspect stopper: Check for cracks, warping, or worn engagement tabs. Replace the stopper if it does not sit flat or feels loose.
- Step 3 – Test engagement: Insert the stopper and rotate it to the ON position. It should click or feel firmly engaged. If the unit only runs in a narrow position, the internal sensor may be misaligned.
- Step 4 – Replace lid sensor or unit: On most Electrolux batch-feed models, the lid sensor is integrated. If misalignment cannot be corrected, replace the stopper first; if the issue persists, replace the disposal.
