Disposal runs but the dishwasher does not drain through the disposal as expected.

Safety First: Turn OFF power to the disposal and do not run the dishwasher until the issue is resolved.

• Step 1 – Check dishwasher inlet: Remove the dishwasher hose from the disposal inlet and inspect for food debris or plastic from the knockout plug. Clear any obstruction.
• Step 2 – Inspect hose routing: Ensure the hose has a high loop under the countertop or connects to an air gap, then to the disposal. Remove kinks or sags that can trap water.
• Step 3 – Clean air gap: If an air gap is installed, remove the cap and clean out any debris blocking the outlet.
• Step 4 – Test drain: Reconnect the hose, run a dishwasher drain cycle, and observe flow into the disposal.
