Everbilt
Dishwasher Inlet Port / Hose Clamp Leak
Garbage disposal leaks from the side where the dishwasher hose connects
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Loose dishwasher hose clamp, Cracked dishwasher inlet nipple on disposal housing, Missing or damaged rubber dishwasher inlet gasket, Improperly removed knockout plug leaving rough edge
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the Everbilt disposal or turn OFF the breaker. Turn off dishwasher if running.
- Inspect the hose connection: Use a flashlight to check the dishwasher drain hose where it attaches to the Everbilt disposal's dishwasher inlet port.
- Tighten the clamp: Use a screwdriver or nut driver to tighten the hose clamp securely around the inlet nipple.
- Check hose and nipple: Look for cracks in the plastic dishwasher inlet nipple on the disposal and splits in the hose. Replace the hose if damaged.
- Replace gasket if present: Some Everbilt models use a small rubber gasket at the dishwasher inlet. If it is missing or deteriorated, replace it with a compatible Everbilt dishwasher inlet gasket.
- If the inlet nipple is cracked: The disposal housing is compromised. The only reliable fix is to replace the Everbilt disposal unit.
