Possible Causes
Deteriorated plumber's putty under sink flange, Loose Everbilt mounting ring, Cracked sink flange, Improperly tightened mounting bolts
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the disposal or turn OFF the breaker. Do not work under the sink with live power connected.
- Confirm leak source: Fill the sink with water, then release it while watching the top of the Everbilt disposal with a flashlight. If water appears at the junction with the sink, the flange is leaking.
- Tighten mounting ring: Use a screwdriver or Everbilt mounting tool to tighten the three mounting screws on the mounting ring evenly. Do not overtighten to the point of deforming the flange.
- Reseal the sink flange (if tightening fails):
- Support the disposal from below and rotate it counterclockwise to remove it from the mounting assembly.
- Loosen and remove the mounting assembly and old sink flange from the sink.
- Scrape away old plumber's putty from the sink opening.
- Roll a new bead of plumber's putty and apply under the new or cleaned Everbilt sink flange.
- Reinstall the flange and mounting assembly, tightening evenly until putty squeezes out.
- Reattach the disposal to the mounting ring and wipe away excess putty.
- Retest for leaks: Refill the sink and check again.
