Possible Causes
Large or hard items jammed in chamber, Running too long continuously, Insufficient water flow, Motor overheating from worn bearings
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the wall switch and unplug the Everbilt disposal.
- Allow cooling: Wait 15–20 minutes for the internal overload to cool.
- Clear jam: Use the bottom hex socket with an Allen wrench to rotate the motor shaft back and forth. Remove any visible obstructions from the chamber with tongs.
- Press reset: Press the red reset button on the bottom of the unit until it clicks.
- Test with water: Restore power, run cold water, and briefly turn the unit ON. If it runs smoothly, resume normal use with smaller loads.
- If it trips again quickly: The motor may be failing; plan to replace the Everbilt disposal.
