Possible Causes
Damaged cord entry grommet, Crack in lower housing around cord clamp, Water intrusion from upper leak traveling down cord
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the disposal immediately. Water near the cord entry is a shock hazard.
- Identify source: Dry the area and run water in the sink (disposal OFF). If water appears at the cord entry, the housing or grommet is compromised.
- Check for upper leaks: Inspect sink flange, dishwasher inlet, and discharge elbow for leaks that may be dripping down the outside of the unit.
- If leak is internal: The cord entry seal is not serviceable. Replace the Everbilt disposal.
