Water and food splash back out of the sink opening when disposal runs
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Removed or worn Everbilt splash guard, Incorrect baffle size, High water flow combined with open throat design, Overloading chamber
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the disposal before touching the sink opening.
- Inspect splash guard: Check if the rubber splash guard/baffle is installed in the sink flange. If it is torn, stiff, or missing, replace it with a compatible Everbilt splash guard.
- Install correctly: Press the new baffle firmly into the sink flange until it seats evenly all around.
- Adjust usage: Reduce water flow slightly and feed food waste gradually to minimize splash.
- Do not operate without baffle: Running the disposal without a splash guard increases risk of injury and mess.
