Possible Causes
Marginal Evergrind sink flange putty seal, Loose Evergrind discharge slip joints, Hairline crack in Evergrind discharge elbow, Overfilled sink causing backpressure at Evergrind seals
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF power and dry the area before testing for leaks.
- Fill and drain test: Plug the sink, fill with several inches of water, then release while observing all Evergrind joints and the sink flange with a flashlight.
- Tighten slip joints: Snug all slip nuts on the Evergrind discharge elbow and P-trap. Do not overtighten plastic nuts.
- Inspect flange seal: If water appears at the top of the Evergrind unit, reseal the sink flange with fresh plumber's putty as described in other steps.
- Replace cracked parts: If the Evergrind discharge elbow or fittings show cracks, replace them.
