Possible Causes
Clogged Evergrind discharge elbow, Blocked dishwasher inlet nipple on Evergrind housing, Clogged sink trap (P-trap) below Evergrind, Food sludge buildup in drain line after Evergrind
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the Evergrind disposal and wall switch. Place a bucket under the sink trap before disassembly.
- Check discharge elbow: Loosen the slip nut on the Evergrind discharge elbow and remove the elbow. Clear any packed food waste or debris.
- Inspect P-trap: Remove the P-trap and clean out sludge or obstructions. Use a bottle brush to scrub the inside.
- Dishwasher inlet: If a dishwasher is connected, remove the hose from the Evergrind dishwasher inlet nipple and check for blockage. Clean and reattach with a new clamp if needed.
- Flush the line: After reassembly, run hot water and briefly operate the Evergrind unit to flush remaining debris.
- If drain remains slow: The blockage may be further down the branch line; use a drain snake or contact a plumber.
