Possible Causes
Failed Evergrind lower motor seal, Corroded Evergrind grinding chamber, Cracked Evergrind housing, Long-term internal rust from standing water
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF power at the breaker and disconnect the Evergrind unit from the outlet or junction box. Do not operate a leaking disposer.
- Confirm leak source: Dry the unit and run water into the sink without operating the disposal. Observe the bottom of the Evergrind housing for drips.
- Check mounting and flange first: Ensure the leak is not running down from the sink flange or side connections. Wipe above and around the unit to trace the true source.
- If leak is from the bottom center: The internal seals or chamber are compromised. These components are not serviceable in Evergrind units.
- Replace the disposer: Remove the Evergrind unit from the mounting assembly and install a new Evergrind disposer, reusing the mounting hardware if compatible and in good condition.
