Possible Causes

Deteriorated Evergrind sink flange gasket, Insufficient plumber's putty under Evergrind sink flange, Loose Evergrind mounting ring, Warped sink drain opening

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF power and support the Evergrind unit from below before loosening any mounting hardware.

  • Check mounting ring tightness: Use a screwdriver or wrench to tighten the three mounting screws on the Evergrind mounting ring evenly. Do not overtighten.
  • Inspect from above: Look at the sink flange in the sink bowl. If you see gaps or dried, cracked putty, the seal may be compromised.
  • Reseal the flange: Remove the Evergrind disposer from the mounting assembly. Push the sink flange up and out from below. Clean all old putty and residue from the sink and flange.
  • Apply new putty: Roll a rope of plumber's putty and apply under the Evergrind sink flange lip. Press the flange into the sink opening and reinstall the mounting hardware from below, tightening evenly until putty squeezes out.
  • Reinstall disposer and test: Reattach the Evergrind unit, run water, and check for leaks.
